Bilge Pumps

Driven by the wind, powered by the sun, steered by the wind. Sail now

“Hirta is fitted with three bilge pumps

There is a manual Henderson pump in the cockpit ( there is a spare pump for this)

There are two automatic electric bilge pumps with alarms

The lower pump (BP1 on panel) is a Rule……… fitted with a float switch.  When this is activated this in turn activates a red warning light in the cockpit and another inside the boat.

The higher pump (BP2 on panel) is a Rule……. also fitted with a float switch. When this is activated a very loud buzzer goes off in the boat. This buzzer  (Bilge on panel)can be silenced without stopping the pump

Each of these pumps has its own outlet pipe through the transom

Two Carbon Monoxide alarms

Two bilge alarms

A gas alarm

There are also alarms on the Echomax active radar reflector, the AIS function of the chart plotter, and the echo sounder.

There are the usual warning lights on the engine panel

An Aqua Signal mast head anchor and tricolour light, 2016, LED bulbs

Decklight, LEDs

Gantry mounted all round white light with dusk to dawn LED bulb

These lights are switch separately

Inside the boat all the lights but one are LEDs
