Electrics
Driven by the wind, powered by the sun, steered by the wind. Sail now
Wiring
About 95% of the wiring was replaced in the 2015/16 refit. Tinned wire was used throughout the vessel.
New fuses boards were fitted (2016)

Batteries
The boat is fitted with two battery banks. The start battery is a 70 AmpHr Bosch (July 2020) The house bank is two 120 AmpHr Leochs (July 2020)

Charging
The engine is fitted with an 80 Amp alternator that charges the batteries through a Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) ( All the charge from the alternator goes initially to the start battery: only when that reaches the required voltage does the charge go to the house bank) (2016)
Each battery bank is fitted with its own mains charger. The start battery has a CTEK XS 0.8 (2016) and the house batteries a CTEK M200 (2016)
There are also two 100 Watt solar panels. (2016) Each is connected through a Victron MPPT solar controller, (2022) one to the start battery, one to the house bank. When the start battery reaches the required voltage the VSR directs the charge from the “start panel” into the house bank.
There is a (two bank) Victron battery monitor (2016) showing battery status

Switch Panels
New switch panels were installed (2016)

Bulbs
All the bulbs on the boat (except 1) are low energy LEDs (2016)
12 Volt and USB sockets
There are two (cigar lighter) 12 volt sockets in the boat and one in the cockpit
There are six double USB sockets in the boat and one in the cockpit
