Forecabin
Driven by the wind, powered by the sun, steered by the wind. Sail now
“Hirta” has a traditional two berth fo’c’sle
There are storage shelves beside and above each bunk with more storage below
There is a double USB socket by the starboard bunk
There is also a fitting to store the Sestrel compass.
The rope wrapped spurling pipe leads the anchor chain to the slightly set aft chain locker
(This puts the weight of the chain slightly more amidships, an advantage at sea)
The 50 metres 14mm octoplait anchor rode, spliced onto the anchor chain, is stored under the port bunk
Forward of the bunks, in what was the chain locker there is more storage
