Fuel System

Driven by the wind, powered by the sun, steered by the wind. Sail now

Tank

“Hirta” has the standard 25 gallon (115lt) stainless steel fuel tank under the cockpit floor

To make it possible to access the tank for cleaning, a hole has been cut in the cockpit sole and in the top of the tank itself (2016). The fuel tank on Hirta has been cleaned out every second year for the last eight years. There is a fuel cut off tap by the fuel tank

First Filter

The first filter, with water separator is the more modern “spin on” type (2020)

Second Filter

There is a second, fine filter, on the engine

The fuel tank was also fitted with a fuel level sender unit. The reader dial is inside on the panel . There is a full set of calibration images available
